What is a Web Server? (A Simple Video Explanation)

When we search for a webpage in our browser, we’re requesting the files for that page (the information our page comprises of, typically HTML) to be sent to our browser, where it assembles the information into a webpage we can see and interact with. However, the information, or files, that instruct our browser to build the webpage have to be stored somewhere in order for us to request them — and that somewhere is a web server.

Below, we take a look at both the function of the web server and its relationship to our web browser.
